AI4DH Project Presented at Press Conference in Ljubljana
On 20 March 2025, the Faculty of Computer and Information Science at the University of Ljubljana hosted a press conference to present several ongoing projects, including the launch of the new Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Digital Humanities (AI4DH).
Dr. Antoine Doucet, ERA Chair holder, introduced the AI4DH project to a diverse audience of journalists, policymakers, students, researchers, and cultural sector representatives. He emphasised the centre’s ambition to:
- Attract top students and scholars from around the world,
- Enable research breakthroughs in the humanities and social sciences,
- Empower scholars through AI-supported training and tools, such as analysing historical newspapers,
- And establish Ljubljana as a leading international hub for AI in the humanities.

Distinguished guests included Tatjana Bobnar and Biserka Marolt Meden, advisors to the President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, alongside representatives from libraries, NGOs, public institutions, and the Slovenian Writers and Translators Association.
