AI4DH at the Founding Forum of E-RIHS.si DIGILAB

On 15 October 2026, the AI4DH team participated in the founding forum of E-RIHS.si DIGILAB, From Data Space to Digital Research Tools for Cultural Heritage.

The event was hosted by the National and University Library (NUK), which established E-RIHS.si DIGILAB, a digital research environment designed to support cultural heritage research. DIGILAB will provide researchers with access to data, advanced digital tools, research infrastructures, as well as specialised knowledge and support.

Bridging AI and the Digital Humanities

At the event, the AI4DH team presented a poster highlighting the challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration between artificial intelligence and the digital humanities, alongside the activities and services offered to help address these challenges.

The AI4DH CoE provides dedicated support to researchers in the humanities and social sciences who wish to integrate AI methods into their research and teaching. Our services include:

  • Access to computational infrastructure
  • Education and training
  • Research resources
  • Support for project proposal development
  • AI, machine learning and data science support
  • Methodological support

To illustrate how AI can be applied in humanities research, the poster also presented a practical research example exploring the use of large language models for motif detection in Cinderella tales.

Through our participation in the forum, we highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of AI4DH in making advanced AI methods more accessible to humanities and social sciences researchers
