AI4DH Workshop: Practical text mining in Orange

On Monday, 13 April 2026, we hosted a workshop Practical Text Mining in Orange, led by Dr Ajda Pretnar Žagar.

The session provided a hands-on introduction to text clustering through a practical example using parliamentary speech transcripts from the Slovenian Parliament (2019–2020). Participants were guided through the key steps of textual data preprocessing and learned how to transform documents into a vector space suitable for analysis.

The workshop also focused on building a simple workflow for clustering texts. Together, participants explored the resulting clusters and engaged in interpreting their meaning.
