AI for Digital Humanities: Beginner Workshops Open for Registration

At the European Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for Digital Humanities, we provide training and skill development in key areas of artificial intelligence. We began by organising a series of workshops to equip researchers in the humanities and social sciences with AI skills to enhance their work.

The first two workshops in the series are: Data Management and Processing (held on 1 December) and Trends and Challenges in Artificial Intelligence (held on 5 December).

The workshops are free of charge.

Title: Data Management and Processing

The workshop introduces participants to the world of data and the basic procedures for processing it. Participants will learn about different types of data (numeric, categorical, text) and the meaning of variables and indexes. Through practical examples, we will demonstrate how to filter, combine, and transform data, handle missing values, identify them, and remove individual records. We will also cover the basics of preprocessing and show how to present data clearly with visualisations.

Title: Trends and Challenges in Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of media attention and may change the way we learn, teach, research, and perform many other jobs. We present an overview of modern artificial intelligence, focusing on deep neural networks and large language models. We outline possible directions for its further development and how it may transform our intellectual activities.
